Have A Go
PURPOSE To accelerate the adoption of featherweight electric vehicles such as electric bikes, scooter, skateboards, and featherweight cars. WHY FEATHERWEIGHT EVS? Transportation has many cascading effects: local economic vitality, climate change, community health, human health, urban design, psychological wellbeing. The automobile currently negatively affects all of these issues. Lightweight personal mobility has incredible potential to have a major positive impact on the planet, local economies, and human lives. STRATEGY There is a chicken and egg problem with featherweight EVs: which comes first, the electric bike or the infrastructure that makes it safe and easy to ride? Have A Go will try to tackle both issues. To increase the demand for lightweight electrified vehicles, the first product of Have A Go will be a website that curates the best designed lightweight electric vehicles as well as accessories such as backpacks, bike locks, bike lights, helmets, water bottles, storage, etc. The goal is to position lightweight electric vehicles as a fun activity, serving as a trojan horse to getting everyday folks used to riding them around town. If it is successful, the second iteration will be an e-commerce site. http://haveago.city To address the infrastructure problem, Have A Go is working on a design concept called Slingshot, The Urban Hyperloop. The goal of this concept is to ignite the imaginations of citizens and local governments alike to radically rethink local transportation. It aims to address the need for urgent action due to climate change. It will show how local economies will benefit tremendously from such a system. Ultimately, the goal is to generate a strong desire from citizens for better local transportation alternatives by sparking their imaginations.
