Efrain Irizarry

Efrain Irizarry is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in internal medicine and hospice care. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Central Florida and in the role of Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System since November 2022, Efrain also holds the position of Associate Medical Director at Haven Hospice. Efrain's prior experience includes a decade as an Internal Medicine Physician in the Army Healthcare system and various roles in the United States Army Reserve, where responsibilities included internal medicine, medical service, and operational roles. Efrain has also served in several leadership positions, including Medical Director at Tri-County Nursing Home and Associate Medical Director at Haven Hospice in the past. Efrain earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida.
