Travis Schafer

Travis Schafer has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Travis currently works as a Process Engineer at Haviland Enterprises, Inc. since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Marathon Petroleum Corporation as a Hydraulic Engineer from July 2019 to May 2021 and as a Project Engineer 1 from January 2016 to July 2019.

Travis also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Machine Shop Student Employee at Michigan State University from September 2014 to December 2015. Travis gained experience as a Global Fabric Care Structures WERLD Intern at Whirlpool Corporation from May 2015 to August 2015.

Before that, Travis was employed at Marathon Petroleum Corporation as an M&TE Pipeline Integrity Facilities Co-Op from January 2015 to May 2015. Travis served as a Project leader overseeing cathodic protection projects and provided support for 2016 Project Feasibility Estimates.

Travis also gained valuable experience as a Technology Engineering Co-Op (Second Rotation) at GE Appliances from May 2014 to August 2014. Travis supported the Dryer Platform Team, advised the marketing team, and submitted design change and patent requests.

Prior to that, they worked as a Student Employee for the State of Michigan from February 2011 to May 2014.

Travis had another co-op experience at GE Appliances as a Technology Engineering Co-Op (First Rotation) from August 2013 to December 2013. Travis was responsible for Thermal Evaluation for the Mission 1 Top Freezer Refrigeration Sealed Systems Team, and their accomplishments included redesigning EPS supply duct, altering shelving, and constructing a helium bubble test unit.

Travis's earlier experiences include working as a Conference Aide at James B. Henry Center for Executive Development from October 2010 to February 2011 and as a Shop Employee at Mid Michigan Wood Specialties from September 2008 to September 2010.

Travis Schafer completed their high school education at Pewamo-Westphalia High School from 2007 to 2010, receiving a High School Degree in General Education. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University, where they studied from 2010 to 2015.
