Travis was responsible for Thermal Evaluation for the Mission 1 Top Freezer Refrigeration Sealed Systems Team, and their accomplishments included redesigning EPS supply duct, altering shelving, and constructing a helium bubble test unit.

Travis's earlier experiences include working as a Conference Aide at James B. Henry Center for Executive Development from October 2010 to February 2011 and as a Shop Employee at Mid Michigan Wood Specialties from September 2008 to September 2010.

Travis Schafer completed their high school education at Pewamo-Westphalia High School from 2007 to 2010, receiving a High School Degree in General Education. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University, where they studied from 2010 to 2015.
