Lani Nagao McKenna

Lani Nagao McKenna, MSW has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Lani Nagao started their career as an Assistant Manager in the Japanese Department at Trans Hawaiian Services, where they handled administrative tasks, tour scheduling, and employee recognition programs. Lani Nagao then moved on to become an Account Manager at Hilo Hattie, where they managed accounts and built client relationships. In 2009, Lani became the Director of Business and Community Relations at McKenna Recovery Center, where they improved business processes and developed internship programs with universities. Lani Nagao later transitioned to become the Director of McKenna Recovery Center & Honolulu Professionals Program, overseeing the organization's operations. Currently, they hold the position of Clinical Operations Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health at Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.

Lani Nagao McKenna, MSW, completed their education at various institutions. Lani Nagao earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a Behavioral Mental Health Specialization from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on International Business & Marketing and a minor in Japanese from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1994. In the same year, they also received a Certificate of Completion in International Business from Denmark International Study - Affiliate of University of Copenhagen. Lani began their academic journey at Kauai Community College, where they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from 1990 to 1992. Additionally, Lani has experience as an exchange student in Moriyama City Girl's High School, where they studied Business & General Curriculum.
