Kenric Murayama currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Health Officer at HMSA, a position held since April 2024. Prior to this, Kenric held the role of Senior Vice President at Hawaii Medical Services Association for a brief period in early 2024. Kenric's extensive experience includes serving as Chairman at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine from July 2015 to February 2024 and as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Abington Memorial Hospital from June 2013 to June 2015. Additionally, Kenric was a Professor (Adjunct) of Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine and a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2013, where Kenric also served as Chief of Surgery. Kenric's medical training includes completing a residency in surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine from 1985 to 1992, following the attainment of an MD from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine in 1985 and a BA in Zoology from the University of Washington. Kenric also earned an MBA in Healthcare from Marist College School of Management between 2015 and 2019.
