James Brese

James Brese is the current Associate Vice President and Controller at Hawaii Pacific University. James has held this position since June 2014. Prior to that, they were the Controller at Associa Hawaii from July 2012 to June 2014, and the Finance Manager at APS Healthcare, Inc. from January 2011 to July 2012. From October 2006 to January 2011, they served as the Chief Financial Officer for the State of Hawaii Department of Education. James also previously served as the Director of Finance for Shriners Hospitals for Children from April 2001 to October 2006.

James Brese has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Chaminade University of Honolulu and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting and Business Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

James Brese reports to David Kostecki, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
