Duke Oishi

Duke Oishi has extensive work experience in the legal field, primarily focusing on energy, public utilities, telecommunications, development, finance, real estate, and business law. Duke currently serves as the Director of Legal at Hawaiian Electric, where they have been since April 2022. Prior to this role, they held positions at Hawaiian Electric as Managing Counsel from March 2019 to April 2022, and as Senior Associate General Counsel from January 2013 to March 2019. Previously, Duke worked as a Partner at Yamamoto & Settle, a law firm specializing in energy and development projects, from June 2009 to January 2013. Duke started their legal career as an Attorney at Cades Schutte LLP from November 2004 to May 2009. Duke also gained experience as a Law Clerk for The Honorable Richard R. Clifton at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from September 2003 to September 2004.

Duke Oishi earned a BBA degree in International Business and Finance from the University of Hawai'i - Shidler College of Business in 2000. Duke later pursued a JD degree at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa - William S. Richardson School of Law from 2000 to 2003.
