Darryl Chen

Partner & Urban Design Sector Lead at Hawkins Brown Architects

Darryl leads the urban design studio and has successfully delivered significant strategic and regeneration projects both overseas and in the UK.

Working for both the private and public sectors, Darryl has led strategic frameworks, vision documents, town centre and campus masterplans, development feasibility studies and public realm projects often at the place where planning strategy and architectural form meet.

Darryl's studio work includes large-scale regeneration projects for the London Boroughs of Hackney and Enfield, an urban extension in Chengdu as well as the conceptual masterplan for Heathrow City.

Darryl also leads the research studio and champions innovation under the auspices of the &\also thinkank.

Darryl is a leading urban design practitioner and has led design units at the Architectural Association and Bartlett schools of architecture. He continues to lecture and publish internationally including most notably at the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale.
