Massimo Tepedino

Partner & Studio Lead at Hawkins Brown Architects

Massimo studied Architecture in his hometown of Palermo, Italy, where he gained his BA (Hons) in Architecture. Having worked in Italy and Spain he is a fully qualified architect in both countries.

Massimo has worked in Barcelona for Foreign Office Architects where he delivered the winning entry for Toulouse Aerospace Campus Competition, a project for the conversion of an abandoned landing track into an office, research and residential complex. Subsequently he completed a number of freelance projects in Italy and Spain.

Massimo was Director of the Masters in interior design from 2008 to 2012 at IED Barcelona; taught on the Interior Design for Commercial Spaces course, and was Director of Out (of the) Door, Masters in design for outdoor spaces at Abadir Academy in Catania, Italy, 2011 and 2012. He lectured at IUAV (Instituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia), Politecnico di Milano and Naba. He has had competition and project work exhibited in various academic and cultural venues including the Biennale di Venezia, London Architecture Festival, and Eme 3. Publications of his personal works include articles in Domus, Frame, Blueprint, Pasajes and Interni magazines.

In 2011, Massimo was awarded the NIB prize for Best Italian Architect, under 36 category.

At Hawkins\Brown Massimo is involved in projects that cross the boundaries between architecture and interior design.
