Haemi Lee is an accomplished music educator and freelance violinist with extensive experience in various musical settings. Since August 2014, Haemi has served as an Orchestra Teacher for Hawthorn School District 73. In addition to teaching, Haemi has built a successful freelance career as a violinist since 2006, performing with ensembles such as the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Danville Symphony Orchestra, as well as at weddings and private events. Previous roles include Private String Teacher at Music Shoppe, Sales Associate at Promenade, and Camp Counselor at Hawthorn Middle School Orchestra/Band Camp. Haemi holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance and Music Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, achieved between 2009 and 2014, and is a graduate of Vernon Hills High School.

Hawthorn School District 73 is a progressive preschool through eighth-grade public school district serving approximately 3,500 students. We serve the communities of Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Libertyville, Indian Creek and unincorporated areas of Lake County, Illinois. Our seven schools are located primarily along Aspen Drive, north and south of Route 60/Townline Road in Vernon Hills. The John Powers Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, operated by the Special Education District of Lake County, is also located on the Hawthorn campus and is considered an integral part of the Hawthorn learning community.
