Peter Hannigan

Peter Hannigan is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Superintendent of Hawthorn School District 73 since July 2019. Prior roles include Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, as well as Principal at both Margaret Mead Junior High and Everett Dirksen Elementary School in Schaumburg School District 54 from July 2006 to June 2019. Additional experience includes teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Argosy University from April 2011 to November 2013, where coursework focused on human resource management and educational change. Earlier positions include Principal at Virginia Lake Elementary School and Building Assistant at Jane Addams School in Palatine Community Consolidated School District 15, as well as serving as a Fourth Grade Teacher at Gwendolyn Brooks Elementary School in Indian Prairie School District 204. Peter Hannigan holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, alongside several other advanced degrees in educational leadership from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Aurora University.
