Nicholas Hagedorn

Nicholas Hagedorn currently serves as the Chief Genetics Officer at The Hawthorne Gardening Company, overseeing cannabis genetics operations and strategy within Scott’s Miracle Gro. Their experience includes a progression from Director of Cannabis Genetics, where leadership of a multidisciplinary team focused on commercial development of novel phenotypes, to prior roles such as Chief of Staff and Senior Analyst in Government Relations, advocating for effective horticultural policy. Hagedorn's background also includes a stint as On Deck Chief of Staff Fellow and a field sales manager in their early career with Scotts Miracle-Gro. A veteran of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, Hagedorn demonstrated leadership and operational excellence through various roles, including Weapons Squad Leader and Infantry Team Leader. Hagedorn holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Adelphi University and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Cornell University.
