Avinda Godahewa

Avinda Godahewa's work experience starts with a role as an Executive - Sales & Marketing at Hayleys Advantis Limited since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Randiya Hotel (Pvt) Ltd from January 2021 to February 2022, where they served as an Assistant General Manager and later as a Front Office Manager. In these roles, they provided leadership and oversaw daily operations, trained and evaluated staff, and managed the department successfully during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before their time at Randiya Hotel, Avinda worked as a Premium Class Cabin Crew at Emirates from September 2014 to August 2020. In this position, they were responsible for ensuring safety and security onboard, providing high-quality customer service, and leading a diverse team.

Prior to Emirates, Avinda worked at Qantas as a Sales Executive from May 2013 to September 2014. In this role, they identified new opportunities and customers, managed sales effectively, and supported the team with daily high volume work.

Avinda's work experience also includes a role as a Ticket Office Executive at BOC Travels (Pvt) Ltd from January 2012 to April 2013. In this position, they handled VVIP/VIP travel for the Government of Sri Lanka, planned international travel itineraries, and made after-sale visits to Governmental Ministries and Departments.

Avinda Godahewa's education history began with obtaining a GCE Ordinary Level from Prince of Wales' College in Moratuwa, which took place from 1998 to 2009. This was followed by pursuing a GCE Advanced Level at Ananda College from 2009 to 2011.

In 2012, Avinda acquired a certification in Galileo Reservation and Ticketing from Travelport. Furthermore, in the same year, Avinda studied at the Open University of Sri Lanka, specializing in Tourism and Hospitality.

Avinda continued to expand their knowledge in the field by attending IATA Training in 2013 for Tourism and Travel Services Management. Additionally, in 2014, Avinda studied Aviation at Emirates Aviation University.

To further enhance their managerial skills, Avinda pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Hospitality Management from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. This degree was completed between 2021 and 2022.

Avinda's most recent educational achievement was in 2023 when they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
