Mary Torres

Mary Torres has a diverse work experience, primarily in the education sector. Mary started their career as a 4th-grade teacher at San Marcos CISD in 2002 and later transitioned into a Human Resources Training Specialist role within the same organization. From 2010 to 2014, Mary served as a Third Grade Teacher at Allen ISD. Mary then joined Good Shepherd Episcopal School, where they held various positions such as Lower School Technology Instructor, Educational Technologist, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion until 2021. Mary also worked as a Program Director at the Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Mary holds positions at both Austin Independent School District and Hays Consolidated Independent School District, where they have worked as a Staffing and Recruiting Coordinator, Human Resources Project Management Coordinator, and is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition and Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Mary Torres has a Master's degree in Training and Development from Texas A&M University-Commerce, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Texas State University, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Additionally, Mary holds certifications in Elementary Education, Elementary Reading Grades 1-8, and English as a Second Language from the State Board for Educator Certification.
