Frank Holtrup has extensive work experience in the field of oncology. Frank is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director at Haystack Oncology since July 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at Sysmex Inostics, including Director of Research & Development, Chief Scientific Officer, and Director of LDT Development & Operations. Frank also served as the Head of Research and Development at Sysmex Inostics from 2013 to 2017. Before joining Sysmex Inostics, they worked at Inostics GmbH as the Head of Research & Development and Project Manager. Frank also has research experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Doctoral Researcher at the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center. Frank has worked as a consultant in various companies, including TheronMedical SE, Diagenics Int. Corp., and Bayer Business Services. Frank started their career as an Assistant in the IT Department at LION bioscience and later worked as an Assistant in Server & Network Administration at Bertelsmann.

Frank Holtrup began their education at Heidelberg University in 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Molekulare Biotechnologie. Frank completed their undergraduate studies in 2004. In the same year, Frank also attended The University of Queensland for a Master of Science degree in Molecular Genetics & Development, which they completed in 2005. Frank then returned to Heidelberg University for their Master of Science degree in Molekulare Biotechnologie, which they obtained in 2007. Following this, Frank pursued a PhD in Biosciences at Heidelberg University from 2008 to 2010. In December 2010, they obtained the certification of Dr. rer. nat. from the University of Heidelberg.
