Dr. LaCrystal Gordon, DNP, MBA, RN, CPPS, CENP, CPHQ has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dr. LaCrystal began their career at Lutheran Health Network in 2005, where they held various roles such as Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, and Patient Experience Director. In 2016, they became the Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Lutheran Health Network before being promoted to Chief Nursing Officer later that year. Dr. Gordon then joined Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital as their Chief Nursing Officer in 2017. Currently, they hold the position of Market Chief Nursing Officer at Haywood Regional Medical Center, starting from June 2023.
Dr. LaCrystal Gordon, DNP, MBA, RN, CPPS, CENP, CPHQ, began their education by earning a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Western Governors University in 2016. In 2015, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the same institution. Following their master's degree, Dr. Gordon further expanded their knowledge and skills by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Western Governors University in 2020. Dr. LaCrystal recently completed their highest level of education by earning a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Capella University in 2021.
In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Gordon holds several certifications that demonstrate their expertise in the field. Dr. LaCrystal is a Certified Executive in Nursing Practice through the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) through the National Association for Healthcare Quality, a Certified Professional in Patient Safety through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School - Ryerson University Chapter, and has completed the IHI Open School program offered by the IHI.
