Matt Smythe

Matt Smythe is an experienced professional currently serving as a Humanities faculty member at Finger Lakes Community College and as a writer for Glorious Mayhem. Since 2022, Matt has held the position of Chief Water Treatment Operator at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards and has been a Freelance Writer and Ambassador for the American Museum of Fly Fishing since 2018. Previous roles include Senior Staff Writer at Free Range American, Director of Membership & Outreach at the American Museum of Fly Fishing, and Communications Director at the American Fly Fishing Trade Association. With a background in literature and writing, holding an MA from George Mason University and a BS from SUNY Brockport, Matt has demonstrated a versatile skill set in writing and communication across various industries.
