Gautam Goel has a long history of work experience in the field of data science and research. Gautam began their career in 1999 as a Senior Software Engineer Research Development and Software Research Engineer at Motorola Research Labs. In 2004, they joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Research Assistant, where they conceptualized and developed a novel methodological framework (Dynamic Flux Estimation; DFE) for estimating parameters of metabolic pathway models from in vivo NMR time-series data. From 2009 to 2020, they held various research positions at Harvard Medical School, the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Massachusetts General Hospital, and ImmusanT, Inc. In 2020, they became the Bioinformatics Advisor at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Chief Data Science Officer at hC Bioscience, Inc.
Gautam Goel's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Computational Systems Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2006 and 2009, a Master of Science (MS) in Bioengineering and Computational Systems Biology from the same institution between 2004 and 2006, a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from the National Center for Software Technology between 1998 and 1999, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University between 1994 and 1998.
