Scott Rouse

Scott Rouse has extensive work experience in the field of IT, with a focus on cloud engineering and Linux system administration.

Scott currently holds the position of Director of Cloud Engineering at hc1, starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Cloud Engineer at the same company since September 2016.

Before joining hc1, Scott worked at Aprimo as a Senior Linux Administrator from July 2012 to September 2016. In this role, they gained experience working with various Linux distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, and SLES. Scott also deployed Linux solutions in AWS and Azure, and had expertise in OpenVPN, Postfix, SFTP, FTPS, and Openswan.

Prior to Aprimo, Scott worked at Brightpoint as a Systems Administrator from June 2010 to July 2012. Scott specialized in Linux system administration, particularly with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SuSE Linux Enterprise, and Oracle Enterprise Linux. Scott also managed a VMware 4.0 enterprise environment and monitored system performance.

Before Brightpoint, Scott worked at Consona Corporation as a Network Administrator from November 2007 to June 2010. Scott'sresponsibilities included working with Windows servers, supporting remote and local offices, and managing VMware ESX 3.

Scott'searlier work experience includes a role as a Network Administrator at REI Real Estate Services from November 2005 to November 2007, where they provided network, server, desktop, and cell phone support. Scott implemented various improvements such as setting up an Exchange 2003 environment and implementing Barracuda spam filtering.

Scott's career began at Duke Realty Corporation, where they worked as a Desktop Support/Server Support technician from 1998 to 2005. Scott'sresponsibilities included general desktop support, installation and maintenance of RightFax servers, and providing support for remote sites.

Scott Rouse obtained an Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute, where they attended from 1994 to 1996.
