Rod Dawson

Rod Dawson has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Rod started their career in 1996 as a Flight Paramedic/Paramedic at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where they worked until 2008. From there, they joined Gwinnett County Department of Fire & Emergency Services as a Battalion Chief, serving from 1993 to 2014. In 2012, Rod took on the role of Cath Lab Technician/ED Paramedic at Eastside Medical Center until 2014. Rod then joined HCA Healthcare in 2015, holding positions as the Director of Physician & Provider Relations and the Director of Physician and EMS Outreach until 2023. Concurrently, from 2020 to 2023, Rod served as a City Commissioner for the City of Fairview, TN. In 2019, they became the Director of EMS Transport at TriStar Horizon Medical Center, a role they held until 2023. Currently, Rod is the Director of TriStar Mobile Medicine at HCA Healthcare | TriStar Division.

Rod Dawson obtained an Associate's Degree in Fire Science/Fire-fighting from Columbia Southern University in 2008. In 1996, they received certification as a Paramedic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Rod also completed a program in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) at Gwinnett Technical College in 1992. Additionally, they have acquired numerous certifications, including NREMT-P, ACLS, BLS, Confined Space Rescue Technician, Hazmat Technician, NIMS 200-800, Paramedic, Critical Care, PALS, Rope Rescue Technician, Structural Collapse Technician, and Trench Rescue Technician.
