Raghu Raman Lakshmanan

General Counsel at HCLTech

Raghu R Lakshmanan is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of HCL Technologies. He is responsible for HCL’s global legal, ethics, regulatory affairs and compliance functions, and policies. He also heads the Ethics Committee for HCL.

Raghu is an experienced attorney with over 25 years of experience. He has played a very key role in negotiating some of the major M&A and strategic contract pursuits HCL has done.

Prior to taking up this role, he managed the global compliance and litigation function for HCL until 2017. Before that, he managed the US legal department for HCL. In that role, apart from handling HCL’s intellectual property, compliance and litigation matters for the US, he was also responsible for negotiating customer contracts, cutting across all verticals and horizontal domains.

Barring a brief stint, from 2001 to 2004, in a mid-sized law firm in Los Angeles, where his work included supporting complex litigations, Raghu has been associated with HCL since 1992. He started his career in HCL as the Company Secretary for an HCL group company in India.

Raghu is a Law graduate from the Delhi University and a postgraduate in Commerce from Madras University. He is also a qualified Company Secretary and Cost Accountant. Raghu is an active member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association.
