Joy Austria possesses extensive experience in healthcare, legal, and research fields. Currently serving as Manager of Research and Knowledge Management at Health Care Service Corporation since August 2015, Joy has held various roles including Senior Research Consultant and Sourcing Advisor. A former Research Assistant at DePaul University School of Law, Joy contributed to scholarly research on medical informed consent laws. Previous experience includes serving as an Independent Legal Nurse Consultant for the Cook County Public Defender, evaluating medical records for legal cases, and working as an In-House Counsel Legal Intern with the American Health Information Management Association. With a background as a Registered Nurse in both surgical/trauma and surgical/transplant intensive care units, Joy also has a strong foundation in library sciences, holding a Master's degree from Dominican University. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University.
