Niraj Shrestha

Scientist, Manager, R&D, Operation at HCW Biologics

Niraj Shrestha has worked in a variety of roles since 1993. From 1993 to 1998, Niraj Shrestha was the Marketing Manager at the Recycle Paper Unit, Environmental Camp Conservation and Awareness. From 1998 to 2002, Niraj Shrestha was a Research Scientist at the Mycobacterial Research Laboratory, The Leprosy Mission-Nepal. From 2002 to 2012, Niraj Shrestha was a Graduate Student at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, where their PhD Research Project was to identify the host factor, eIF2α Kinase HRI, which limits pathogen’s (Plasmodium, Listeria, Yersinia and Chalmydia) development and its ability to promote infection inside host. From 2012 to 2016, Niraj Shrestha was a Post Doctoral Associate at the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine, where their supervisor was Dr. E. Podack, MD/PhD. From 2016 to 2018, Niraj Shrestha was a Scientific Liaison/Scientist/Lab Manager at Altor Bioscience Corporation, where their role was to organize and manage data from external academic and industry collaborations, oversee design and execution of in vitro and vivo studies and coordinate external R&D efforts with internal R&D efforts, and provide high-level scientific input for research proposals. Since 2018, Niraj Shrestha has been a Scientist, Manager, R&D, Operation, Scientist and Scientific Liaison, and Scientist, Director Business Development and Research Collaboration at HCW Biologics.

Niraj Shrestha began their educational journey in 1991, when they earned an I.Sc in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Nepal jobs. Niraj then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Nepal jobs in 1993. In 1995, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology from the University of Mysore. Finally, Niraj Shrestha completed their education in 2012, when they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
