Mohana Ray, PhD, BCMAS has a range of work experience in scientific communications, research, and academia. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Scientific Communications at HDMZ, where they have been working since April 2021. Prior to this role, they served as an Account Executive at HDMZ from October 2019 to April 2021.

Before joining HDMZ, Mohana worked as a Scientific Writer from May 2018 to September 2019. Mohana gained extensive research experience during their time at The University of Chicago, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher from October 2014 to September 2019. Earlier in their career, Mohana worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from June 2007 to August 2013. During this time, they developed an enzymatic method for sequence-specific capture of genomic DNA segments and created high-resolution physical maps of brain tumor genomes. Mohana also integrated different genomic data to validate mutations and understand the biology of candidate cancer genes.

Mohana's research experience extends to their time as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where they performed ab initio calculations on fluorosubstituted benzenes with ammonia. Mohana demonstrated the behavior of these complexes based on the number of fluorine atoms present.

Early in their career, they completed a summer internship at Bose Institute, where they quantified the effect of protein aging on the chaperone-like activity of tubulin and purified tubulin from goat brain.

Overall, Mohana Ray's work experience encompasses scientific communications, research, and academia, and they have demonstrated expertise in molecular biology, genomics, and scientific writing.

Mohana Ray, PhD, BCMAS completed their education in the field of Chemistry. Mohana began their academic journey in 2000 at St. Xavier's College, University of Calcutta, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 2003. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, graduating in 2005. Building upon their academic achievements, Mohana went on to pursue a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2005 to 2013, culminating in the successful completion of their doctorate.
