Sanjoy Chakraborty

Sanjoy Chakraborty, PhD, PE, serves as the Principal Geotechnical Engineer at HDR since February 2017, leading geotechnical efforts for transportation design-build and alternative delivery projects. Prior to this role, Sanjoy held the position of Senior Geotechnical Engineer at CDM Smith from November 2000 to January 2017, acting as the lead geotechnical engineer for South Carolina. Earlier experience includes a role as Project Engineer within the Nuclear Power Group at Development Consultants Private Limited from June 1989 to August 1991. Sanjoy's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, both from Auburn University, as well as a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BCE) from Jadavpur University.
