Kam Franklin is an interdisciplinary artist, lead vocalist for the Houston soul band The Suffers, and owner of Homegirl Island. They transitioned from a career as a gas and power trade analyst at an investment bank to pursue music full-time in 2015. Kam has been recognized for their independent artistry, appearing on platforms such as The Daily Show and NPR Tiny Desk, and collaborating with a diverse range of musicians. They also serve as the Texas Chapter Governor for The Recording Academy and are a board member for HeadCount Org. Kam holds a degree in Business Management from Texas Southern University.
