Kate is qualified as a Chartered Accountant and her daughter, Hannah Tomlinson, attended the Senior school from 2007 – 2014 and, in 6th form, chose to study the International Baccalaureate. Kate was very impressed with the IB as a qualification, as it sought to develop the critical thinking skills valued by universities and promoted broader learning. Throughout her school career Hannah was a dedicated rower representing the school at Henley Royal Regatta, and GB in two European Championships.
Kate is the Program Lead, postgraduate programs at the Oxford School of Hospitality Management, Oxford Brookes University. She lectures both undergraduate and postgraduate students in financial management and her research interests are in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability.
Kate became a governor of Headington School in September 2015. Kate chairs the Finance and General Purposes Committee and sits on the Education and Remuneration Committees. She is also a trustee of the General Charitable Trust and Director of Headington School Services.
