David Gelobter, Partner, joined Headlands Capital in 2023 and co-manages the Headlands Capital Strategic Opportunities Program. Prior to joining Headlands, Mr. Gelobter was a Managing Director at MCCP Investment Partners, a provider of debt and equity capital to middle market companies. At MCCP, Mr. Gelobter led almost $1 billion of investments in business service, TMT and Fintech companies. He was also Co-President of Atlantic Avenue Acquisition Corp, a special purpose acquisition corporation formed by MCCP’s Managing Directors to pursue investments in these industries.
Prior to MCCP, Mr. Gelobter was the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Emerson Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund which operated from 2007 through 2015. Prior to founding Emerson Capital, Mr. Gelobter was a Senior Analyst at Tremblant Capital. Before Tremblant, he was an investment banker working at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney with leading private equity firms for 10 years. He started his career at GE where he had both investment and marketing responsibilities.
Mr. Gelobter currently serves on the boards of New York Public Radio and the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association. Mr. Gelobter has also served on the board of private portfolio companies on behalf of MCCP and GE.
Mr. Gelobter holds a BA in Political Economy and Literary Studies from Williams College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
