Alex Parker

Alex Parker has extensive experience in the fields of physical activity, mental health, and youth mental health. Currently serving at Victoria University since March 2017, Alex holds multiple roles including elected staff member on the VU Council, Executive Sponsor for LGBTQIA+ Inclusion, Executive Director of the Institute for Health and Sport, and Professor of Physical Activity and Mental Health. Concurrently, Alex has been affiliated with the University of Melbourne as an Honorary Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Youth Mental Health. Since April 2011, Alex has also contributed as a Clinical Psychologist and Team Leader at headspace. Earlier career experience includes a tenure at Orygen where Alex held various positions including Research Fellow and Associate Director of Knowledge Transfer. Alex's academic background includes a PhD in Psychology, a Master's in Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology, all from the University of Melbourne.
