Headwaters Foundation for Justice MN
Sierra Judy is an experienced program officer currently managing the Giving Project at Headwaters Foundation for Justice MN, focusing on program planning, curriculum design, and grantmaking leadership. Previously, Sierra served as a Program Associate, promoting organizational culture and enhancing staff capacity at the same foundation. At the University of Minnesota, Sierra worked as a Student Engagement Coordinator, developing programs to advance diversity and inclusivity on campus. Earlier roles include Urban Scholars Program Coordinator and Planning Intern at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities, where Sierra supported racial equity initiatives and coordinated leadership development programming. Additional experience includes coaching high school students as a College & Career Advocate and mentoring freshman students in a first-year experience program. Sierra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of Minnesota.
Headwaters Foundation for Justice MN
We are a Minneapolis-based community foundation that invests in grassroots organizing across Minnesota. We do this through grantmaking programs that support organizations and groups on the front lines of social change. Each of our programs invite people from the community to learn about and lead our grantmaking work. Since 1984, Headwaters has believed that the people who directly experience society’s injustices are exactly the people who know the way to collective liberation. We fund a variety of groups, and we prioritize funding groups that are led by and for Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color.
