Michael Gerber is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in health policy and communications. Currently serving as a Senior Editor at Health Affairs since January 2022, Gerber edits peer-reviewed research papers and contributes to the online publication Health Affairs Forefront. Concurrently, Gerber has been an Adjunct Faculty member at The George Washington University since 2014, teaching courses in Epidemiology and Health Sciences. Prior to these roles, Gerber was a Senior Consultant at RedFlash Group, where strategic communications were developed for various healthcare organizations. Gerber's background also includes significant experience as an EMS Supervisor and Paramedic at the Alexandria Fire Department, along with a Graduate Student Internship at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Gerber began a career in journalism as a Staff Writer for The Hill. Academic credentials include a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Science, History of Medicine from Yale University.
