David Coats

David Coats is an experienced professional with a substantial background in labor market policy, workplace democracy, and trade unions. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director at the Health and Safety Executive since September 2022, Coats has held various significant roles, including Honorary Professor at the University of Leicester since 2014 and Director at WorkMatters Consulting from September 2010 to November 2024. Coats was a member of the Central Arbitration Committee from 2005 to August 2024 and has contributed as a Board Member for the Involvement and Participation Association until May 2023. Additionally, Coats served as a Research Fellow at The Smith Institute from April 2010 to April 2023, and a Visiting Fellow at the Chifley Research Centre in March 2015.
