Dan Greenbaum, the President and CEO of Health Effects Institute since March 1994, leads an independent research institute providing high-quality science about the health effects of air pollution. Dan manages an annual budget of $11 to $12 million and oversees research by leading scientists in North America, Europe, and Asia. In addition to their current role, Dan has also served as Chairman of the International Council for Clean Transportation, a member of several expert committees at the National Academy of Sciences, Commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and Vice President at Mass Audubon. Dan holds a Master of City Planning degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies and Planning.
