Qiana Thomason

Qiana Thomason serves as the President and CEO of Health Forward Foundation since January 2020, bringing extensive experience in healthcare leadership. Prior roles include Vice President positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, where responsibilities spanned community health strategy and population health solutions, focusing on achieving a medical loss ratio below 85% and enhancing care value through innovative benefit and technology solutions. Earlier experience includes leadership at Swope Health Services, managing clinical operations of a large behavioral health division and directing the Kansas City Mental Health Court Diversion Program, as well as serving in the U.S. Senate office of Jean Carnahan with a focus on health and human services. Qiana Thomason holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Kansas, a Bachelor of Social Work from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Kansas City University.
