Alexis Snyder is a seasoned Patient and Community Engagement Specialist with extensive experience since January 2013. Currently, Alexis contributes to the American Academy of Pediatrics as a member of the CHILD Registry Diagnostic Feedback Workgroup and serves as an advisor for the Silver Diamine Fluoride Work Group. Additionally, Alexis is involved with the National Quality Forum as a Diagnostic Excellence Committee Member and serves as a Patient Partner at the University of Colorado Denver on a PCORI-funded research award. Since 2015, Alexis has been a Merit Reviewer at PCORI, evaluating research proposals from a patient perspective and ensuring their relevance to real patient issues. Other roles include advisory positions at AcademyHealth, Yale/YNHH Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Alexis holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Hofstra University, both focused on disabilities, gerontology, and public space planning.

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is the lead agency charged with formulating the federal government’s health IT strategy and coordinating federal health IT policies, standards, programs, and investments. ONC is organizationally located within the Office of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The position of National Coordinator was created in 2004, through an Executive Order, and legislatively mandated in the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act) of 2009.
