John Rancourt

John Rancourt has a diverse range of work experience spanning various sectors. John began their career as a State Government Relations Department Intern at Pfizer in 2001. John then worked as a Capitol Hill Editor at Elsevier, where they wrote and edited pharmaceutical industry news stories. From 2007 to 2008, they served as a Government Affairs Manager at the National Sleep Foundation.

In 2008, Rancourt worked as a Field Organizer for Obama for America, before becoming a Legislative Fellow at the Office of the Honorable Steve Rothman in 2009. In this role, they managed legislative strategy for healthcare and led briefings for the Congressman. John also worked as a Research Assistant at American University during this time.

In 2010, Rancourt served as a Health Care Analyst Graduate Student Intern at GAO, where they wrote content for a report on federal investments in new vaccine technologies and conducted analyses on the Indian Health System's tracking of contracted care. John also worked as a Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellow at the Institute of Medicine (now the National Academy of Medicine) for a brief period in 2010.

During their time at Inova Health System from 2012 to 2013, Rancourt worked as a Presidential Management Fellow on rotation. Since 2011, they have held various roles at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), including Director of the Interoperability Division in the Office of Policy. In this capacity, they lead policy and programmatic work on the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA), a Congressional mandate to connect health data sharing networks.

John Rancourt holds a Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University. John then pursued further education at American University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on Policy Analysis and Public Finance.
