Peter Banks

Peter Banks is a seasoned policy analyst currently at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) since October 2022, where efforts focus on collaboration with state and federal partners on Medicaid waivers and providing critical feedback on health IT and interoperability for demonstration waivers. With a robust background at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services since February 2013 as a Health Insurance Specialist, Peter manages oversight and compliance for Medicaid programs affecting numerous beneficiaries. Previous experience includes serving as a Project Officer at ONC, where Peter managed significant federal funding for health IT development, and as a Senior Policy Analyst at Washington Health Strategies Group, analyzing legislation related to health technology and advocating for healthcare reform. Peter holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Wake Forest University.
