Lakshmi Dhanvanthari

Lakshmi Dhanvanthari has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Lakshmi is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Health Plan of San Joaquin since October 2013. Prior to that, they held the position of Regional Medical Director at Health Net. In this role, they were responsible for monitoring cost, utilization, and quality performance, developing relationships with Medical Directors, and implementing interventions to reduce re-admissions among the Medicaid population. Earlier in their career, Lakshmi worked at WellPoint as a Staff Vice President Medical Director. In this role, they managed a large team and budget, developed and implemented quality improvement programs, achieved the highest level of accreditation for multiple health plans, and received multiple incentive awards for quality improvement activities. Lakshmi also served on various committees and collaborated on statewide initiatives.

Lakshmi Dhanvanthari completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Pediatrics Residency Program at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. Prior to that, they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at Kilpauk Medical College in Madras, India.
