Pooja Mittal has a diverse and extensive work experience. Pooja started as an Adjunct Faculty at Boston Medical Center (BMC) in 2005, and later became an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of California, San Francisco in 2008. Pooja progressed to becoming an Associate Clinical Professor at the same institution until 2016. In the same year, Mittal joined Fair Oaks Health Care Center as an Associate Physician. Pooja also worked as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2018 onwards. Mittal's most recent role is with Health Net, where they held positions as Health Equity Lead and Medical Director from 2016 to 2022. In 2022, they were promoted to the role of Chief Health Equity Officer. Additionally, Mittal served as Chief Member at a company called Chief from January to August 2023.
Pooja Mittal completed a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General at Boston University in 1998. Pooja then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences from 1998 to 2002. Before that, they studied Biomedical Sciences, General at the University of California, Riverside from 1994 to 1997. In terms of certifications, they obtained Board Certification in Family Medicine from ABFM in 2005 and became an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Advisory Faculty with AAFP in 2013.
