Michael Hammond

Michael Hammond is an experienced pharmaceutical professional currently serving as the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, where leadership of the National Executive focuses on governance and strategic direction. Michael's extensive background includes various roles at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, such as Network Manager for National Clinical Networks and Senior Service Development Manager, contributing to innovative health service delivery. Prior to this, Michael worked at Waitematā District Health Board, gaining valuable experience as a Clinical Pharmacist and Project Manager, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Michael holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Auckland, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving health outcomes through collaboration and effective policy development.
