As Vice President of Financial Operations, Joan currently oversees financial and client fund accounting, in addition to their Human Resources department. Joan has been with Health Plans since its inception in 1981, and has held various financial leadership roles over the past 30 years.
During her time a Health Plans, Joan was also responsible for general oversight of enrollment, billing and payment configuration, payment processing, COBRA and Flexible Spending Accounts. In each area, process improvements were identified and implemented resulting in improved efficiencies while controlling costs.
Over the last ten years, Joan played an integral role in ushering Health Plans’ growth in the self-funded market, taking part in the due diligence process during the acquisition of Health Plans by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in 2005, and the acquisitions of BPM in 2006, MedWatch, LLC in 2013, and TrestleTree, LLC in 2014.
Joan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Assumption College and is a licensed Notary Public.
