Carlos Tilves Bellas

Carlos Tilves Bellas is an experienced researcher currently serving as an Investigador at the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela since June 2023, focusing on the incidences of cardiac arrhythmias in heart failure patients. Prior to this, Carlos held various roles at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, including predoctoral researcher where optimization of Lagrangian particle models was undertaken as part of the CleanAtlantic project. Additional experience includes roles as a data scientist at ABANCA, and positions analyzing data in the fields of genetics and psychobiology. Carlos earned a Master's degree in Statistical Techniques from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, complementing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a focus on research methodology.

The Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS) is a translational research, innovation and knowledge transfer centre which leverages and boosts synergies between the University and the Health Care Areas of Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza, and of Lugo, A Mariña and Monforte de Lemos. IDIS was officially certified as a research centre of the Spanish Health System by the Institute of Health Carlos III in March 2010.
