Jenifer García Fernández is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela since January 2021, with previous experience in L&D Human Health at MSD España from June 2019 to July 2020. Jenifer has completed multiple PhD internships, including research on iron nanoparticles' biological impact and toxicological studies of nanoparticles at Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung and Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, respectively. Jenifer's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Biosciences from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, complemented by two Master's degrees in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Pau and Universidad de Oviedo, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universidad de Oviedo.

The Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS) is a translational research, innovation and knowledge transfer centre which leverages and boosts synergies between the University and the Health Care Areas of Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza, and of Lugo, A Mariña and Monforte de Lemos. IDIS was officially certified as a research centre of the Spanish Health System by the Institute of Health Carlos III in March 2010.
