Senior Manager, Health & Racial Equity at Health Resources in Action

Cynthia Espinosa Marrero, M.S has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Cynthia is currently serving as the Senior Manager of Health & Racial Equity at Health Resources in Action since September 2022. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director of Nueva Esperanza Inc from December 2021 to June 2022. From August 2019 to December 2021, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at the City of Holyoke.

Before their roles in the public sector, Cynthia had their consulting business, Cynthia Espinosa Consulting, where they worked as an Independent Consultant from August 2017 to December 2021. Cynthia also worked as a Program Manager at Nueva Esperanza Holyoke from January 2019 to August 2019.

Cynthia's experience in community development and education includes their role as a Community Education Manager at Growing Places Garden Project from January 2016 to November 2017. Cynthia was also a Co-Coordinator at Keene Community Garden Connections from January 2014 to January 2016.

In their earlier career, Cynthia worked at NUESTRAS RAICES where they served as the Farm Program Manager from June 2012 to July 2013, and as a Record Keeping and Evaluation Assistant from January 2012 to June 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Tour Guide and Sales Associate at Taza Chocolate in 2011, and as a Food Runner at Legal Sea Foods from April 2011 to September 2011.

Cynthia Espinosa Marrero, M.S has a diverse education history in the field of environmental studies and sustainable food management. In 2006, they began their undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, majoring in Sustainable Food Management. Cynthia completed their degree in 2010.

In 2013, Cynthia obtained a certification in Permaculture Design from the institution Permaculture FEAST. This certification further enhanced their knowledge and skills in the field.

Continuing their pursuit of knowledge, Cynthia joined Antioch New England Graduate School, Antioch University in 2014 to pursue a Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies- Environmental Education. Cynthia successfully completed their master's degree program in 2016.

Additionally, Cynthia has obtained certifications in Permaculture Teaching from the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in August 2015. These certifications have contributed to their expertise and teaching abilities in the field of permaculture.
