Senior Community Engagement Manager at Health Resources in Action

Tamika R. Francis has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Tamika R. is the founder and head cook of Food & Folklore since May 2017. Prior to this, they worked as the senior community engagement manager for Health Resources in Action from January 2015, where they were responsible for designing and implementing grassroots community policy and advocacy initiatives. Tamika R. also led a team of residents to establish local policy changes in various areas such as food, active transportation, and smoke-free housing.

Tamika served as the executive director and educational programs coordinator for theMOVE from 2013 to 2015. Tamika R. worked as a senior community-based tourism marketing officer for the Government of Saint Lucia from September 2010 to March 2012. Tamika R. Francis has a diverse education history. Tamika R. obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Sustainable International Development from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University from 2008 to 2010. In 2008, they also earned a Certificate in Fundraising from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Furthermore, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from The University of the West Indies between 2000 and 2003. In 2014, they pursued Non-Profit Management at Marlboro College Graduate & Professional Studies. Additionally, Tamika briefly attended Boston University in 2017, studying Cooking and Related Culinary Arts, General.
