Lead Community Health Worker at Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida

Alberto Leal has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Alberto began their career in 1999 at Aventis Pharmaceuticals where they served as a Medical Advisor, providing support to the Medical Director and training new sales representatives. In 2002, they left Aventis Pharmaceuticals and went on to work as a Marketing Coordinator at Olympus for the entirety of 2006. Later that same year, Alberto joined Victus Medical Inc. as a Product Manager until 2009. During their time at Victus Medical Inc., they acquired skills in product management. From 2009 to 2019, Alberto worked at Cigna-HealthSpring as a Care Senior Associate, responsible for reviewing and approving/denying referrals, specializing in Medicare coverage, and updating national coverage determinations. Alberto then transitioned to AHIMA in 2019, where they served as a Certified Coding Associate until 2020. In 2020, Alberto joined Medical coders of Naples as a CCA Medical Coder. Alberto'srole there lasted until 2021. In the same year, Alberto worked at Bonita Beach Medical Group as a Logistics Manager until October. Currently, Alberto is working at Healthcare Network as a Community Health Worker, and by December 2022, they were promoted to the Lead Community Health Worker position.

Alberto Leal began their education at Colegio Santiago De Leon de Caracas from 1981 to 1986, where they pursued their high school education with a focus on Biology/Biological Sciences. Alberto then attended Universidad Central de Venezuela from 1987 to 1997, obtaining a degree in Medico Cirujano (Medical Surgeon) with a specialization in Medicine.

Later, in 2003, Alberto enrolled in the MD to RN accelerated program at Miami Dade College, pursuing a degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. The end year for this program is not provided.

In addition to their educational background, Alberto Leal has also achieved certain certifications. Alberto obtained a certification in Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health First Aid Trainings in April 2022. Furthermore, they received a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification from AHIMA in October 2019.
