Michael Young

Michael Young has a strong background in software engineering and team leadership. Michael currently works as a Senior Manager at Macquarie Group, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineering Lead at Healthdirect Australia, where they managed an engineering team and worked on various projects including a national Covid Vaccine Service Finder. Before that, they served as a Development Team Lead at openshop (Australian Shopping Network) from 2020 to 2021. From 2016 to 2020, Michael held the role of Development Team Lead at Northrop Grumman Australia, leading a team in the Cyber Security Domain. Michael started their career as a Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead at Telcoinabox from 2011 to 2016 and worked as a Software Engineer at Helecom from 2008 to 2011. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in project delivery, team management, and implementing best practices and methodologies.

Michael Young has a Master's Degree in Information Technology (Artificial Intelligence) from UNSW, which they completed from 2006 to 2009. Michael also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business and Administration from the University of Newcastle, which was obtained from 2007 to 2008. Additionally, they earned a Master of Internet Technology degree specializing in Internet Security from the University of Wollongong from 2005 to 2006. Michael also obtained the MCSE certification from Microsoft in 2001.
