Michelle Azu, MD, FACS, currently serves as the Director of Breast Surgical Services and Associate Director of the Breast Disease Management Team at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital since August 2016. In addition, Michelle holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. With a strong commitment to breast cancer eradication, Michelle is a member of the American Cancer Society's editorial review board and works as a medical editor and writer for Healthline Media. Previous roles include Director of Breast Surgery at Atlantic Health and Assistant Professor at both The Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Training at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center bolstered Michelle's expertise in breast diseases. Michelle earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the same institution.
