Lawrence Kwok

Lawrence Kwok has over 30 years of professional experience in finance and operations. Lawrence most recently served as the Director of Finance and Operations at HealthServe Ltd, where they oversaw the finance and administration department, supported the Executive Director in donor relations, and managed financial reporting and internal controls. Prior to that, Lawrence was the Director of Finance at AWWA Ltd, where they set the strategic direction for the finance team, improved governance and efficiency procedures, and was involved in centralized administration and procurement processes.

Before their time at AWWA Ltd, Lawrence worked at FEI YUE COMMUNITY SERVICES as a Financial Audit and Risk Management Consultant, where they trained governance and internal control procedures, monitored and improved internal control policies, and ensured compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Lawrence also served as the Head of Finance at FEI YUE COMMUNITY SERVICES, where they complied with the Code of Governance, Financial Reporting, and Charities Act, reported audit findings to the Audit Committee, and reported draft audited statements to the Finance Committee.

Earlier in their career, Lawrence held roles such as Finance Manager and IT Manager at FEI YUE FAMILY SERVICE CENTRE, Accountant at FEI YUE FAMILY SERVICE CENTRE and Academy of Human Development, Assistant Manager Finance at Sparklewood Products Pte Ltd, and Auditor at Amisano Hanson Chartered. Lawrence began their career as an Assistant Controller at Pritchard Trane Inc and as a Revenue Controller at Budget Rent A Car of Vancouver.

Lawrence Kwok has a diverse educational background. Lawrence pursued their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from The University of British Columbia, graduating between 1985 and 1989. Later, in 2009 to 2011, they attended the University of Adelaide, where they obtained a Master of Professional Accounting, specializing in Accounting and Finance. More recently, between 2019 and 2020, Lawrence studied at Temasek Polytechnic in the School of Informatics & IT, earning a Specialist Diploma in Business Analytics.
