Philip Kinsella began their work experience in 2012 as a CAD Operator at The PAC Group. Philip then worked as a Mechanical Engineer at OptoTech starting in 2013. During the same year, they also started working as a PHD Researcher at Swinburne University of Technology, where they continued until 2017. At the university, they also took on the role of Sessional Lecturer for the 3D Scanning and 3D Printing Masters Unit from June to December 2016. In 2018, Philip founded H3D and currently holds the position of Founder and CTO.

Philip Kinsella started their education journey in 2002 at Tallaght Community School, where they completed their Irish Leaving Cert in an undisclosed field of study. Philip then went on to attend Technological University Dublin from 2007 to 2010, where they earned an Ordinary Bachelor Degree followed by a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Philip continued their academic pursuits at Technological University Dublin from 2007 to 2012, obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in the same field. Lastly, they pursued a higher level of education at Swinburne University of Technology from 2013 to 2017, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering.
